Since we submit full spreads for production, I was wondering what the very first page looked like? I'm trying to design my first VA album and am not sure what that very first "side" looks like. Thanks!

When you open the book you see a black end sheet. It is on the back side of the front cover as well as the opposite right side of the spread. So when you lay it open it is completely black. Then when you flip the next page you see your first full spread.
Here is another explaination that was posted a few months back. I hope this helps:

Since all the talk is about spreads, I assume the albums start with a spread rather than a single right-hand page, but didn't see that confirmed anywhere. Am I correct?
Is there a "blank" right-hand page when you open the cover, or is the left page of the first spread glued to the cover?
thanks, looking forward to getting my first soon!

Brett,
All spreads are double sided. The books starts with a double end sheet; so you open the cover and you see two (left and right) sides of black - a full spread. Turn that page and you see a full designed spread. This is your first DESIGNED spread. (side one and two, left and right)
So you would want to design full spreads and you can make as many as you'd like - up to 45.
The back is the same black end sheet material. This material makes the book very strong!
(See picture Below)
Hope that helps!
